Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for atleast five centuries in the British Isles. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. PGA stands for Professional Golfers' Association Tour.
Jerry Smith was born in Council Bluffs at Iowa. His height is 6 feet 1 inches and his weight 180 pounds. He made his debut in 1987. Jerry Smith current year best PGA Tour Finishes 5 were Shell Houston Open, FBR Open, Bank of America Colonial. He entered final round trailing by four and finished solo fifth, nine behind winner Stuart Appleby after an even-par 72. It was his first top-10 on Tour since a T5 at the 2002 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
Jerry Smith 2005 season highlights made the cut in 20 of 24 starts on the 2005 Nationwide Tour, with eight top-10 and 13 top-25 finishes. He finished the year number 6 on the money list and notched a career-best T2 at the Chattanooga Classic, where rounds of 67-64-70-65 led to a four-way tie with eventual winner Jason Schultz, Scott Weatherly and Joe Daley. He fell out of the playoff on the first extra hole in his play.
Jerry Smith career highlights 2000 in his first season on the PGA Tour made the cut in 20 of 32 starts. He posted his first career top-10 at GTE, General Telephone and Electronics Byron Nelson Golf Classic. His rounds of 68-68-70-67 earned a solo ninth-place. In 1999 he earned his card for 2000 with a seventh-place finish at the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament and posted five top-10s including a season-best third-place finish at the Cleveland Open. In 1998 he was the winner of the Guam Open on the Omega Tour.
He is one of the best known golf players in the history of the game. A unique style of game strategy and excellent judgment is what makes this great player one of the best all time golf players. Sheer determination, concentration and self confidence has helped him through out his professional career of playing golf to achieve what other players can only imagine of.
