He also won Junior World Tournament in California three times at age 10, 14 and 16. His best finish was T25 at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. He was qualified for PGA Tour after finishing T26 at 2003 Qualifying Tournament.
 
Boyd was coupled with 37,127 dollars earned in 16 events in 2004 05 had the opportunity with Major Medical Extension carryover to play in 13 events in 2006 to earn 586,135 dollars and match the 623,262 dollars winnings of 2004's number 125, Tag Ridings. He played on a Major Medical Extension in 2005 and did not make a cut in eight starts and did not play for almost five full months from March to July.
 
Boyd Summerhays was a player who was totally dedicated in his play. He completely believed in hard work. With his hard work and devotion in his play, he has achieved many goals in his overall golf-playing career.
