Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Nationwide Tour is the developmental tour for the U.S. based PGA, Professional Golfer’s Association Tour and features professional golfers who have either failed to score well at the Qualifying School to earn their PGA Tour card, or who have done so but then failed to win enough money to stay at that level. Anthony Painter was a golf player who played nationwide tours. He was born on11 June 1965 in Milton. His Nationwide Tour Victories were in 1998 Nike Ozarks Open. His 2006 Nationwide Tour opened the season with a top 15 finish at the Jacob's Creek Open Championship. His Best Nationwide Tour was played in 1998 and he won Nike Ozarks Open. He was member of the Nationwide Tour from 1997 to 2002 and 2005 and member of the PGA TOUR in 2003. He ranked number 59 on the final money list, with 102,164 US dollars. He was Tied 23rd at the Chrysler Classic of Tucson and Tied 14th at the Byron Nelson Championship were only top-25 finishes. His best season on Tour came in 1998 when he earned his first career title, winning the Ozarks Open with a tournament-record score of 21-under-par 267. He was member of the Australasian Tour since 1992. He was winner of 1993 Meru Valley Perak Masters on Australasian Tour and also the 1996 Schweppes Coolum Classic. He was Tied 4th at the 1999 Greg Norman Holden Classic and Tied 5th at the Canon Challenge. He finished Tied 5th at the 1996 Heineken Classic, where he posted his career-low round on that tour with a 6-under-par 66. In 1996, he made cut in all nine starts on Australasian Tour, with five top-10 finishes, including his win at the Schweppes Coolum Classic.
Anthony Painter’s superior approach and dedication towards the sport made him surpass the other players of his epoch. However, he gained prominence only after he won the first Nationwide Championship title in his career and became an international celebrity and a symbol of hope to millions.
