Greg Biffle

Born Gregory Jack Biffle on December 23, 1969 in Vancouver, Washington, the racer commonly known as Greg Biffle has made a name for himself in the NASCAR racing circles, not only participating in several of its divisions, but also winning an impressive number of accolades throughout his career. Biffle’s rise to the highest echelons of NASCAR racing began after being spotted by ESPN announcer and former NASCAR champion Benny Parsons at the 1995/1996 Winter Heat series, where Parsons announced his intention to recruit him.

Biffle debuted in the Craftsman Truck Series, winning the “Rookie of the Year” award for Roush Racing in 1998. Two years later, he won the series title, his first in one of NASCAR’s three major series. However, the 2001 season would find him racing in the Busch Series, finishing fourth in points with five wins and winning the “Rookie of the Year” distinction once more. The next season would prove to be an even a better one for Biffle, obtaining four wins, twenty top-fives and twenty-five top-tens that ultimately earned him the Busch Series Championship driving the #60 Ford. Biffle has become a perennial presence at the Busch Series ever since, although he has occasionally participated on a part-time basis.

Such were the cases of the 2003 and 2005 seasons, when he nevertheless managed to place in the top-ten, and in 2004, when Biffle was a strong contender for the championship and finished at the third position at the end of the season. He currently races the #16 National Guard Ford Fusion, and his present score shows 10 wins, 45 top-tens and 3 poles. Greg Biffle is the only racer to have won both the NASCAR Busch Series and the Craftsman Truck Series so far. Not one to shy away from a challenge, Biffle started competing in the Nextel Cup in 2003, and should he succeed in winning that championship too, he will be the only driver to all three major NASCAR titles, a feat that would forever enter his name in NASCAR history.
