NHL, the National Hockey League is a premier professional North American Sports League played in indoor stadiums. It’s divided into two conferences, each comprising of three divisions of ice hockey teams. The league was established in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec and it is composed of 30 teams out of which 24 teams based in U.S. and 6 in Canada. They have a regular season and playoffs leading to the Stanley Cup, which is the NHL Championship final.
 
Toronto Maple Leafs team plays in the NHL and is an ice hockey team based in Canada, Ontario and Toronto. This team plays under Eastern conference and Northeast division.

Their entry in the newly formed National Hockey League for the 1917 1918 season played its first game on December 19, 1917 against the Montreal Wanderers. In 1930 the team was still playing in the old Arena Gardens. The team finished second in the 1930 1931 season in the Canadian Division. The Leafs were called the Gashouse Gang for their off-ice antics.
 
Cliff Fletcher was the general manager of the Leafs in the 1980’s. Fletcher started his hockey career in the Montreal organization and then built an expansion team in Atlanta from scrape, improving each year to an eventual Stanley Cup with Calgary in the 1988 1989 season.
 
The Toronto Maple Leafs team with all the dedication and devotion in their play has achieved many goals in their overall hockey-playing span. They possess the ability of defeating the opponent easily by giving some extra hard work and efforts.
