NHL, the National Hockey League is a premier professional North American Sports League played in indoor stadiums. It’s divided into two conferences, each comprising of three divisions of ice hockey teams. The league was established in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec and it is composed of 30 teams out of which 24 teams based in U.S. and 6 in Canada. They have a regular season and playoffs leading to the Stanley Cup, which is the NHL Championship final.

The Tampa Bay Lightning is a professional ice hockey team based in Tampa, Florida. The team plays under Eastern conference and Southeast division and plays in the National Hockey League. In 1991, the team awarded an NHL franchise.

Some of their success stories include Martin St. Louis scoring the game-winning triple overtime goal against the Washington Capitals to win their first playoff series in 2003, winning the 2003 Southeast Division championship, where Brian Bellows and Alexander Selivanov score back-to-back overtime goals in game 2 and game 3 of the 1996 Eastern Conference Quarter-finals. Their triumphs include Stanley Cup Championship in 2004, where Brad Richards earned his Conn Smythe Trophy and Dave Andreychuk hoisting the Stanley Cup for the first time. The team has subsequently been affiliated with the Phoenix Coyotes.
