St. Louis Blues
NHL, the National Hockey League is a premier professional North American Sports League played in indoor stadiums. It’s divided into two conferences, each comprising of three divisions of ice hockey teams. The league was established in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec and it is composed of 30 teams out of which 24 teams based in U.S. and 6 in Canada. They have a regular season and playoffs leading to the Stanley Cup, which is the NHL Championship final.
The St. Louis Blues are a professional ice hockey team based in St. Louis, Missouri. They play in the NHL. This team plays under Western conference and Central division and is named after the famous W. C. Handy tune St. Louis Blues. They were one of the six teams added to the NHL in the 1967 expansion, along with the Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota North Stars, Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Flyers and Oakland Seals, when the league doubled in size.
Since entering the NHL, the St. Louis Blues have employed some of the greatest players in history. Such old-time hockey heroes as Dickie Moore, Glenn Hall, Doug Harvey and Jacques Plante helped give the team in its initial success. Later, stars such as Wayne Gretzky, Brett Hull, Peter Stastny and Dale Hawerchuk also would spend time in St. Louis. Legendary architects Emile Francis and Lynn Patrick once ran the Blues, and championship team builders Jimmy Devellano and Cliff Fletcher had stints on the St. Louis hockey staff. Coaches of the team include Stanley Cup champions Al Arbour, Scotty Bowman and Jacques Demers. In 1997 1998 won their second straight Stanley Cup title.
The team with all the dedication and devotion in their play has achieved many goals in their overall hockey-playing span. They possess the ability of defeating the opponent easily by giving some extra hard work and efforts.
