Zdeno Chara
NHL, the National Hockey League is a premier professional North American Sports League played in indoor stadiums. It’s divided into two conferences, each comprising of three divisions of ice hockey teams. The league was established in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec and it is composed of 30 teams out of which 24 teams based in U.S. and 6 in Canada. They have a regular season and playoffs leading to the Stanley Cup, which is the NHL Championship final. Zdeno Chara is well known hockey player. He was born on 18th March 1977 in Trencin. His height is six feet nine inch with weight 260 pounds. He is positioned as defenseman player and plays for Boston Bruins team. Has played in one NHL All-Star Game 2005-06 he matched his previous career season-high in goals with 16 and set a career-high in points with 43. He had nine multiple-point games, all two-point efforts including two two-goal games. In 2004-05 he played the lockout season with Farjestads in Sweden, leading team defensemen in scoring with 25 totals in 33 games. In 2003-04 he named a First Team NHL All-Star and finished second in Norris Trophy balloting as the league’s top defenseman and set a career season-high in goals with 16 and tied for third in the NHL at 33. He had ten multiple-point games, including two three-point efforts and missed three games with foot and rib injuries. In 2002-03 he established a career season-high in assists with 30 and had seven multiple-point games, including a career-high 3 effort November 12 at New York Islanders and played in the NHL All-Star Game and recorded the second-hardest shot 97.8 in the Skills Competition. In 2000-01 led the league in hits with 373 and led the team in penalty minutes with 157 and played in a career-high 82 games, played his 200th NHL game January 31 versus New Jersey. In 1999-2000 he finished second in the NHL with 309 hits and had one multiple-point game, a 2 effort November 3 at New York Rangers, including the game-tying goal and played his 100th NHL game November 19 at Colorado.
