Yan Stastny
NHL, the National Hockey League is a premier professional North American Sports League played in indoor stadiums. It’s divided into two conferences, each comprising of three divisions of ice hockey teams. The league was established in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec and it is composed of 30 teams out of which 24 teams based in U.S. and 6 in Canada. They have a regular season and playoffs leading to the Stanley Cup, which is the NHL Championship final. Yan Stastny is well known hockey player. He was born on 30th September 1982 in Quebec City. His height is five feet eleven inch with weight 175 pounds. He is positioned as center player and plays for Boston Bruins team. In 2005-06 spent most of the season prior to his March 9 trade to Boston with Iowa and AHL where he had 31 totals in 51 games. He recalled to Edmonton for a three-game scoreless stint from March 1-5 and played his first NHL game March 1 versus St. Louis. Yan Stastny played for Team USA in two World Championships in 2005 2 totals and 6 PIM in 7 games and 2006 1 totals with 2 PIM in 7 games. He played two seasons in the German Elite League with Nurnberg with 83 totals and 143 penalty minutes in 95 career games. He led Nurnberg and was fourth overall in German League scoring in 2004-05 with 54 totals in 51 games. Boston’s sixth pick eighth round, 259th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He traded to Edmonton by Boston for 2006 fourth round draft pick later traded, James Delory, and August 30, 2005 and traded to Boston by Edmonton with Marty Reasoner and 2006 second round draft pick for Sergei Samsonov, March 9, 2006.
