Wiemer, Jason
NHL, the National Hockey League is a premier professional North American Sports League played in indoor stadiums. It’s divided into two conferences, each comprising of three divisions of ice hockey teams. The league was established in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec and it is composed of 30 teams out of which 24 teams based in U.S. and 6 in Canada. They have a regular season and playoffs leading to the Stanley Cup, which is the NHL Championship final. Jason Wiemer was born on April14, 1976 in Kimberley, British Columbia. He is a Canadian ice-hockey centre positioned player shooting left, who currently plays for the New Jersey Devils team of the NHL. His height is 6 feet 1 inches and weight is 225 pounds. He is the eight overall selection of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. After the better part of four seasons in Portland, he made his NHL debut with the Lightning in 1994-1995 after starting the season in the WHL. After four seasons in the Flames organization, he was acquired by the Florida Panthers where he established a career high in points with 31 during the 2001-2002 season. He has played only one season in South Florida before being dealt to the New York Islanders prior to the 2002-2003 season, where he became one of the team's on ice leaders. After only one full season on the Island, he was claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Wild in the early stages of the 2003-2004 season, before making a return to Calgary in the summer of 2004. Upon his return to Calgary, he suited up for a mere 33 games with the Flames before having his rights acquired by the New Jersey Devils at the 2006 NHL trading deadline. On the international stage, he won a bronze medal with Canada's Under-18 junior team at the 1993 Pacific Cup. Jason Wiemer is a player with amazing playing skills.
