Stanislav Chistov was born on the 17th of April 1983 in Chelyabinsk, Russia. He is a 5 foot 11 inch, 180 pound Left Wing, who shoots from the Left. In 2002-2003, he played in his first NHL season and appeared in all 21 postseason games to be ranked 3rd on the club with four postseason goals and second on the team with a plus 4 rating. He had a two-game goal streak.
 
He appeared in his first NHL playoff game and  in the regular season, set the club rookie-record with 79 games in one season. His 12 goals and 30 points were the second highest totals in Anaheim history among rookies and among NHL rookie leaders, he ranked 7th in points, 8th in goals, 8th in assists, 6th in Power play Assists, 5th in PP points. He had three multi-point games on the season, including 1 four-point game and one multi-assist contest of 2, tying for the NHL rookie lead with a plus 10 rating.
 
He played in the 2003 NHL Youngstar Game. He had a two-game goal streak, the first goal streak of his career and scored a goal on a game-high five shots, the goal came 19 seconds into the first period, the third-fastest goal to open a game in Mighty Ducks history and the fastest goal scored by the Ducks at the Arrowhead Pond. He earned two assists and scored a goal and had three assists in his NHL debut, the 4 points were the most by a player appearing in his first NHL game since 1977. At the age of 19, Chistov was also the youngest player in NHL history to record at least four points in his NHL debut, in addition, at 19 years, 5 months and 23 days, he was the second youngest player in Ducks history to appear in an NHL game.
 
In 2001-2002, he helped Russia to the gold medal at the 2002 World Junior Championships, scoring a goal in Russia's 5-4 win over Canada in the final game. He was selected the Player of the Game for his effort in the final game, also co-leading Team Russia with 4 goals and 4 assists for 8 points in seven tournament games. He played for Team Russia at the 2001 World Championships, where he led in scoring with 5 Goals and 1assist for 6 points in seven games.
