Spacek, Jaroslav
Jaroslav Spacek was born on 11th of February 1974 in Rokycany, Czech Republic. He is a five foot eleven inch, 204 pound defenseman for Buffalo Sabres. In 2003-04, he tallied 22 points with 45 penalty minutes and minus-13 rating in 58 games and was second among defensemen in goals, assists and points. He netted two power play, one shorthanded and two game-winning goals and led the Blue Jackets defensemen with 108 shots on goals. He notched three multi-point games. In 2002-03, he tallied 45 points with 70 penalty minutes and a minus-23 rating in 81 games and set Blue Jackets record for most assists and points by a defenseman and set career highs in both categories. He led team in ice time per game with 24 minutes and 47 seconds and registered six multi-point games, including four multi-assists contests. He played his 300th game of his National Hockey League career and tied team record with three assists and three points.
In 2001-02, he recorded 18 points with 53 penalty minutes and a minus-4 rating in 74 games, including five points in 14 games with Columbus after being acquired from Chicago. He scored a point in his first two games with the Jackets and a shorthanded goal in first game at Nationwide Arena. In 2000-01, he began the season with Florida, scoring 5 points in 12 games and made his Chicago debut. He tied for third on the team in shorthanded points with three and was sixth in power play points with 10.
In 1999-00, he completed his second NHL season and second season with the Panthers, setting career highs with 10 goals, 26 assists and 36 points. In 1998-99, he completed first NHL season and had three goals and 12 assists in 63 games. He led the team and finished third among NHL rookies with a plus-15 rating and finished fifth among first-year defensemen in scoring. He made NHL debut on opening night and scored first NHL goal. He notched first NHL assist and recorded 12 points in 14 games with New Haven, including three power play goals. He had two assists to register his first career multiple point game and scored his first shorthanded goal.
