Bryan Smolinski was born on the 27th of December 1971 in Toledo, Ohio. He was a six foot one inch, 205 pound Center and Left Wing player for Chicago Blackhawks team.
 
In 2005-06, Smolinski recorded 17 goals and 31 assists in 81 regular season contests with the Ottawa Senators. In 2004-05 signed with Motor City, United Hockey League. In 2003-04, he had three game-winning goals. He had three multi-goal games, six two-point games and three three-point games with a four-game point streak. He had two points and averaged 16 minutes and 3 seconds of ice-time per game in the playoffs and made second career World Cup appearance, scoring one goal in three games for team United States.
 
In 2002-03, he tied for seventh in NHL with 8 game-winning goals and made his Senators debut, recording an assist in overtime for his first point and recorded first goal with Ottawa. He was an alternate captain with Los Angeles and recorded 10 two-point games and two three-point games, all with LA. He recorded third career hat trick. He scored first playoff goal with Ottawa. He made playoff debut with Ottawa. In 2001-02 finished fifth in scoring for the Kings with 38 points and had 10 multi-point games. He scored goals in Games 1 and 6 in the Colorado series during the playoffs. 

In 2000-01 finished third on the Kings with 59 points and 27 goals. He recorded his second career hat trick and scored two overtime goals. In 1999-2000, he finished sixth in scoring for the Kings with 56 points and named NHL player of the week, picking up seven points in three games. In 1998-99, he finished fourth in scoring for the Islanders with 40 points an d led the Islanders in shots with 223. In 1997-98, he finished fourth on the Islanders in scoring with 43 points and was second on the Islanders in shots with 203.
