NHL, the National Hockey League is a premier professional North American Sports League played in indoor stadiums. It’s divided into two conferences, each comprising of three divisions of ice hockey teams. The league was established in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec and it is composed of 30 teams out of which 24 teams based in U.S. and 6 in Canada. Jerred Smithson was born on the 4th of February 1979 in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada. He is a six foot three inch, 194 pounds Center for Nashville Predators.

In 2005-06, He posted career-highs with 66 games played, 5 goals scored, 9 assists made for 14 points tallied and 66 penalty minutes.  Prior to the 2005-06 season, he had totaled three assists in 30 career NHL games and tied for third on the club with a plus 9 rating. He recorded two multi-point contests, including a career-high three-assist game. His first NHL goal was the game-winner. He opened the year with Milwaukee, American Hockey League and was recalled to Nashville for the rest of the season. He re-signed with Nashville and appeared in three of Nashville’s five playoff games, making his NHL playoff debut on April 21 vs. San Jose.

He tied for the Milwaukee Admirals, AHL, team lead in 80 games played in 2004-05 and won 64 percent, with 55 of 86, of his draws in eight games with Los Angeles in 2003-04. He made his NHL debut and appeared in 22 NHL games in 2002-03. He led Manchester, AHL, with a plus 16 rating in 2002-03 and finished second on Manchester with 78 games played in 2001-02. He was limited by injury to 24 AHL games and three East Coast Hockey League tilts in his first 2000-01 pro season. He played five Western Hockey League seasons from 1995 to 2000 with Calgary, registering 47 goals and 64 assists for 111points in 319 games. He helped the Hitmen capture the WHL championship in 1998-99.
