NHL, the National Hockey League is a premier professional North American Sports League played in indoor stadiums. The league was established in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec and it is composed of 30 teams out of which 24 teams based in U.S. and 6 in Canada.
 
Skoula, Martin is one of the finest players in the NHL history, who was born on October 28, 1979 in the Litomerice city of Czech Republic. As a player, he marked a height of six feet three inches with a weight of 220 pounds and positioned as defenseman serving for the Minnesota Wild team. Martin appeared in 482 NHL games, with Colorado, Anaheim, Dallas and Minnesota. He tallied 34 career goals and 143 career points to go along with 246 penalty minutes.
 
In the 2005 to 2006 season Martin played 78 NHL games, including 17 with Minnesota after being acquired by the Wild along with D Shawn Belle from Dallas in exchange for Willie Mitchell and a second round draft pick. He finished at the sixth position in the NHL season with five goals and 16 assists for 21 points. In a Wild sweater, Martin scored four goals and 11 assists in 61 games with Dallas and blocked a team high six shots. He picked up a goal and an assist in second game with the Edmonton team and assisted on two Wild goals, including the game winner. He posted 100th career NHL assist against St. Louis Blues and registered a goal, an assist and a season-high 25:45 of time on ice.
 
In the 2003 to 2004, Martin split the season with Colorado and Anaheim playing in 79 NHL games and tallied two goals and added 16 points in 58 games with Colorado. He led Anaheim defensemen with 21 assists, matching his career high, and was second among defensemen on the team with 25 points. He also appeared in all 23 playoff games as Colorado won the Stanley Cup and recorded his first career playoff goal in game three of the Stanley Cup Finals.
 
Martin is admired as a proficient and massive player with a potential to build the team’s winning strategy single handedly and compile victories in any kind of situations.
