NHL, the National Hockey League is a premier professional North American Sports League played in indoor stadiums. The league was established in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec and it is composed of 30 teams out of which 24 teams based in U.S. and 6 in Canada. Niclas Wallin is NHL player who is currently playing with Carolina Hurricanes team on Defenseman position.  Niclas Wallin was born on February 20, 1975 in Boden, Sweden. His height is six foot three inches and weight is 220 pounds. He played his first NHL game on October 7, 2000 in a 3-3 tie verses Washington team and he got first NHL Point on December 26, 2000, a goal in a 3-2 loss at Tampa Bay.

The third pick, 97th overall selection of the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Wallin spent the early part of his career with Brynas Gavle in Sweden before making his North American and NHL debut in 2000-01. A stay at home defenseman, Wallin played eight games with the Hurricanes AHL American Hockey League affiliate Cincinnati before making his NHL debut with the parent club. In only his second season with club in 2001-02, Wallin was instrumental in the Hurricanes playoff drive to the Stanley Cup final, scoring two game-winning goals before falling to a talented Detroit Red Wing team in the final.

Wallin established a career hign in points with ten in 2002-03 and duplicated that feat in 2003-04. On the international stage, Wallin represented his homeland at the 1998 World Junior Championships. His regular season total statistics included 223 GP games played, 8  G goals, 20 A assists, 28 pts points and 179 PIM, penalty minutes.
