Nate Thompson
NHL, the National Hockey League is a premier professional North American Sports League played in indoor stadiums. It’s divided into two conferences, each comprising of three divisions of ice hockey teams. The league was established in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec and it is composed of 30 teams out of which 24 teams based in U.S. and 6 in Canada. They have a regular season and playoffs leading to the Stanley Cup, which is the NHL Championship final.
Nate Thompson was born on October 5, 1984 in Anchorage, Alaska. He plays at center position. In 2005-06, he played his first full pro-season in Providence AHL, American Hockey League with 18 totals and 58 PIM, Penalty Minutes in 74 games. In 2004-05, he signed a try-out agreement with Providence AHL at the conclusion of his junior season in Seattle and joined the AHL Bruins for their playoff run. He has one assist with six penalty minutes in 11 post-season games as Providence advanced to the AHL Eastern Conference final series. In Junior Career, he played four seasons of junior hockey with Seattle of the Western Hockey League with 143 totals and 153 penalty minutes in 253 career junior games and scored a career-high of 19 goals in 2004-05, helping Seattle to a first place finish in their division. He was Boston’s eighth pick, 183rd overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. His regular season total statistics included 65 GP; games played 13 G, goals, 23 A, assists, 36 pts, points and 24 PIM, penalty minutes. Nate Thompson demonstrated a tradition of excellence, relentless work ethic and demanding leadership style and respect that defined his tenure with the team.
