NHL, the National Hockey League is a premier professional North American Sports League played in indoor stadiums. It’s divided into two conferences, each comprising of three divisions of ice hockey teams.The league was established in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec and it is composed of 30 teams out of which 24 teams based in U.S. and 6 in Canada. They have a regular season and playoffs leading to the Stanley Cup, which is the NHL Championship final.

Nash Tyson was born in Edmonton, Alberta. Tyson played Junior B with Sherwood Park before joining the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL, Western Hockey League in 1990-91. The feisty winger played on the team's Memorial Cup wins in 1992, 1994 and 1995. In the process he became one of only three players to win three national junior titles, joining teammates Darcy Tucker and Ryan Huska.

In 1994, Nash was selected 247th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. Nash saw limited action with the Blues during the 1998-99 season; however was a key figure with the team's AHL affiliate in Worcester. In 1999-00, St. Louis utilized him as an emotional grinder and penalty killer which became his niche in the NHL and he filled that role for five seasons before being dealt to the Phoenix Coyotes in the summer of 2003.

In 2003-04 season, in his 6th NHL season, he played 69 games with the Coyotes, recording 3-5-8 and 110 PIM, penalty minutes and finished 3rd on team in PIM. He established a career high in games played. In 2002-03 season, he recorded 6-3-9 and 114 PIM in 66 games with St. Louis and ranked 5th on the team in PIM. He played in his 200th NHL game at Boston on December 3. He posted a 2-game goal streak from December 28 to 29 and registered his 1st career power play goal at CBJ. His regular season total statistics included 324 GP, games played 27 G, goals, 31A, assists,  58 pts, points and 589 PIM, penalty minutes.
