NHL, the National Hockey League is a premier professional North American Sports League played in indoor stadiums. It’s divided into two conferences, each comprising of three divisions of ice hockey teams. The league was established in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec and it is composed of 30 teams out of which 24 teams based in U.S. and 6 in Canada. They have a regular season and playoffs leading to the Stanley Cup, which is the NHL Championship final.
 
Scott Gomez was born on 23rd Dec, 1979 in Anchorage, Alaska. He plays at Center position and his regular season total statistics include 394 games played 70 goals, 236 assists, 306 points and 278 penalty minutes. He is the first-ever Hispanic player drafted in first round and 18th Alaskan ever drafted. He has spent summer backpacking through Europe with friends and has brought Stanley Cup to his hometown of Anchorage, Alaska, where Governor Frank H. Murkowski declared July 15, 2003 as Scott Gomez Day. He runs a hockey school in the summer.
 
He played a small role in 2003 showing of Whoopi, along with S. Stevens and J. Pandolfo, as well as 2000 episode of One Life to Live. He enjoys watching tennis, especially the U.S. Open. He was voted as one of America’s top 50 bachelors in 2001 by People Magazine and was also named as the greatest athlete from Alaska in 2004 Sports Illustrated poll.
 
In 2003-04, he finished first on Devils with career-high 56 assists and second with 70 points. His assist total tied Tampa Bay’s M. St. Louis for tops in the league and his point-total matched his career high from 1999-00 rookie campaign. He was the league’s leading scorer with 9 goals, 32 assists and 41 points in 29 games after the All- Star Break

He is remembered as one of the best all time players in the world of hockey and a powerful skater with a lethal shot who back-checked responsibly and played the game cleanly. He, with all his dedication and devotion in his play has achieved many goals in his overall hockey-playing career with the ability of defeating the opponent easily by giving some extra hard work and efforts.
