He captured a bronze medal with the Czech Republic at the 2006 Winter Games and led all defensemen in the tournament with four goals.
In 2003-04, he represented the Czech Republic at the 2004 World Cup of Hockey and tied for second among tournament defensemen in scoring 3 game 1 assists 4 points. He tied for the team led in power-play goals and overtime points 1game 2assists, ranked second on the team in points and assists and tied for second on the club with four game-winning goals and appeared in all 82 games for the Predators in his first NHL season.
