The NHL Second All-Star Team and tied his career-high with 13 goals and tied for the second most assists and the third most points by a men in a single season in franchise history and is the only active men to post 30 or more assists and 40 or more points in 10 straight seasons.
 
In 2003-04, among NHL leaders, ranked tied for 14th in power play assists 21. He appeared in his 800th career NHL game on November 22 at Saint Louis and registered two assists. His first was his 600th career NHL point on Febuary 20 versus Colorado and played in a career-high 211 straight games from December 12, 2001 to March 22, 2004.
 
In 2002-03, among NHL defensemen, ranked tied for third in assists 44, fourth in points 55 and tied for fifth in power play goals 8 and collected a career-high eight-game assist streak 0-9-9, October 17 to November 1, the streak tied for the second longest in the NHL in 02-03. In 1995-96, finished tied for seventh among NHL defensemen in points 66 and had the second best points-per-game average 1.03 among all defensemen.
 
In 1994-95, he ranked third on the New York Rangers in points 36 and was ninth in the NHL among defensemen and led the Rangers in 1993 to 94 and placed second in the NHL in defensemen scoring with 89 points 12-77-89. The first defenseman to lead a team in scoring that finished first overall in the NHL and was first on the Rangers and first among NHL defensemen in assists 77.
