Jean-Francois Jacques
NHL, the National Hockey League is a premier professional North American Sports League played in indoor stadiums. It’s divided into two conferences, each comprising of three divisions of ice hockey teams. The league was established in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec and it is composed of 30 teams out of which 24 teams based in U.S. and 6 in Canada. They have a regular season and playoffs leading to the Stanley Cup, which is the NHL Championship final. Jean-Francois Jacques was born on 29 April 1985 in Terrebonne, Quebec. His position is Left wing and Shoots is Left. His height is 6 foot 4 inch and weight is 217 lbs. Jacques was drafted in the 2nd round by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to his professional career, he played for four seasons with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar of the QMJHL, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He made his professional debut with the Edmonton Road Runners of the AHL, American Hockey League in 2004-05, appearing in 6 games as a late-season call-up. Following Oilers training camp for the 2005-06 season, Jacques was assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL where he played the first half of the season. He was recalled to the Oilers to replace injured forward Ethan Moreau, making his NHL debut on February 2, 2006 versus the Columbus Blue Jackets. Jacques wears sweater number 41 for the Oilers, the third player to have worn those digits for the team, and the first in more than a decade. Brent Gilchrist was the first to wear that number for the club for 60 games during in 1992-93 season, followed by Bill McDougall for 4 games later that same year.
