His position is forward and plays for New York Rangers team. In 2005 06 he appeared in 81 games with the Rangers, registering 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points, along with 44 penalty minutes. He established career highs in 81 games played, 10 goals, 18 assists, 28 points and 44 penalty minutes. He notched his first goal as a Ranger on October 8th at New Jersey and made his Rangers debut on October 5th at Philadelphia. His 54 points and 34 assists ranked second on the club, while his 20 goals ranked third. In four post-season contests, he tallied two goals and one assist for the Bulldogs.
 
In 2003 04 he skated in 53 games for the Montreal Canadiens, registering five goals and seven assists for 12 points, along with 21 penalty minutes. His 12 points ranked 17th on the team and had two assists in five playoff games before suffering an injury that caused him to miss the remainder of the playoffs. In 2002 03 he appeared in eight games with Montreal, recording three goals and two assists. In 2001 02 he skated in 12 contests with Montreal, registering 12 penalty minutes.
 
Jason Ward is remembered as a powerful skater with a lethal shot who back-checked responsibly and played the game cleanly. He, with all his dedication and devotion in his play has achieved many goals in his overall hockey-playing career. He had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by giving some extra hard work and efforts.
