Jason Spezza
NHL, the National Hockey League is a premier professional North American Sports League played in indoor stadiums. It’s divided into two conferences, each comprising of three divisions of ice hockey teams. The league was established in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec and it is composed of 30 teams out of which 24 teams based in U.S. and 6 in Canada. They have a regular season and playoffs leading to the Stanley Cup, which is the NHL Championship final. Jason Spezza is a well known hockey player. He was born on 13th June 1983. His height is six feet three inches and weight is 205 pounds. His position is center and plays for the Ottawa Senators team. In 2004 05 he was assigned to Binghamton recorded personal career-high and franchise-record five points against the Manitoba Moose and recorded second four-assist effort against Albany. He was also named a starter for Canadian squad at mid-season AHL all-star game. He reached the 100-point plateau with an assist on an Antoine Vermette goal versus Philadelphia in 2005, becoming first AHL player to reach the mark since 2000 01 season. He was named to season-ending AHL first all-star team and was awarded the Les Cunningham Award as AHL MVP, Most Valuable Player. He led the AHL in regular season scoring with 117 points 32 to 85 to capture the John B. Sollenberger Trophy. In 2003 04 he recorded his career season highs in 78 games played, 22 goals, 33 assists, 55 points and 71 penalty minutes. He was named to AHL’s 2002 03 all-rookie team. In 2000 01 he was ranked No. 1 among North American prospects on Central Scouting’s final ranking and captured bronze medal with Team Canada at 2001 World Junior Hockey Championship, WJHC. He also named Windsor’s most outstanding player and voted the Western Conference’s best playmaker in 2001 coaches poll. Jason Spezza is remembered as a powerful skater with a lethal shot who back-checked responsibly and played the game cleanly. He, with all his dedication and devotion in his play has achieved many goals in his overall hockey-playing career. He had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by giving some extra hard work and efforts.
