NHL, the National Hockey League is a premier professional North American Sports League played in indoor stadiums. It’s divided into two conferences, each comprising of three divisions of ice hockey teams. The league was established in 1917 in Montreal, Quebec and it is composed of 30 teams out of which 24 teams based in U.S. and 6 in Canada. They have a regular season and playoffs leading to the Stanley Cup, which is the NHL Championship final. Jason Smith is a well known hockey player. He was born on 2nd November 1973, in Calgary, Alberta. His height is six feet three inches and weight is 215 pounds. His position is defenseman and plays for Edmonton Oilers team. He was New Jersey’s 1st choice and 18th overall in 1992 NHL Entry Draft. In 1993 94 he made his NHL debut with New Jersey on October 8th 1993 and played a total of 41 games. He established a single-game career high for both assists and points with three assists at Calgary on October 16th 1998. In 2002 03 he scored 4 to 12 record with 64 PIM, penalty minutes and was 5th in 68 GP, games played and third on Oilers in time on ice, averaging 21:46 minutes per game. He scored his 100th career NHL point with the goal vs Dallas on October 28th. He played in his 700th career NHL game versus Ottawa on March 14th. Jason Smith is remembered as a powerful skater with a lethal shot who back-checked responsibly and played the game cleanly. He, with all his dedication and devotion in his play has achieved many goals in his overall hockey-playing career. He had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by giving some extra hard work and efforts.
