Jason Blake
NHL, the National Hockey League is a premier professional North American Sports League played in indoor stadiums. It’s divided into two conferences, each comprising of three divisions of ice hockey teams. Jason was born on September 2, 1974 in Moorhead, Minnesota, and is a professional ice hockey player currently playing for the National Hockey League's New York Islanders. Jason’s height is 5 feet 10 inches and weight is 180 pounds and shoots left and plays in his position, which is forward. Jason started playing in 1998-99, and was named WCHA, Western Collegiate Hockey Association, Player of the Year with North Dakota. He led the WCHA in 69 points and 28 goals. He was the finalist for the Hobey Baker Award for the second time. In 1997-98 he was the member of First-team All-WCHA for North Dakota and he led the team with 51 points. In 1996-97 he was transferred to North Dakota from Ferris State. He was finalist for the Hobey Baker Award and in 1994-95 he was named to the CCHA, Central Collegiate Hockey Association, All-Rookie Team. In 2000-01 he recorded four multiple-point games and made his Islanders debut on January 4 at New Jersey, tallying one assist. He played in his 100th NHL game and scored his first goal as an Islander on February 14 versus PHI. In 2002-03 he led the team and tied for fourth in the NHL with four short hand goals. He was ranked fourth on the team in goals and points. He registered a team-high 243 shots and had a career-best seven-game point streak from March 6 to 19, where he recorded his second career hat trick on March 19 versus MIN. He had a five-game point and assist streak December 23 to 31. He tallied two-goal game including a shorthanded empty net game-winner January 31 versus FLA. He tied a career-high with four points on December 31 at PITT. He suffered a high ankle sprain on March 25 at PHI and missed the last five games of the season. Jason is a powerful skater with a lethal shot who back-checked responsibly and played the game cleanly. He, with all his dedication and devotion in his play has achieved many goals in his overall hockey-playing career. He has the ability of defeating the opponent easily by giving some extra hard work and efforts.
