Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. LPGA stands for Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour. LPGA, in is an American organization for female professional golfers. The organization, with headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida runs a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world from February to November each year. The LPGA was founded in 1950 by a group of 13 women. LPGA Tour's events are held in the United States. Sherry Wilder, LPGA player was born on November 19, 1943 in Grand Rapids, Mich. Her height is five feet seven inches. She was Grand Rapids City Champion four times, 1961-3-5-6. She played two years of varsity men’s golf and was a medallist in the women’s intercollegiate of 1964. Low amateur 1963 Wolverine open, Western Michigan champ, 1965, Spring lake open champion. She was president of western Michigan golf association. She cracked the top-10 twice in 1968 her second year out, but didn’t score consistently until 73 when she tripled all previous bests. She received instruction from Jim Scott, Everett Van Dusen and Shirley Englehorn and represents skyway mfg, and Izord-Haymaker sportswear. Sherry Wilder with all her dedication and devotion in her play achieved many goals in her overall athletic career. She had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts. She never lost hope in herself and always fought hard to achieve her goal. She is still remembered as one of the best athletes in the history of Olympics.
