Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for atleast five centuries in the British Isles. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. LPGA stands for Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour. LPGA, in is an American organization for female professional golfers. The organization, with headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida runs a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world from February to November each year. The LPGA was founded in 1950 by a group of 13 women. LPGA Tour's events are held in the United States. Sally Sessions, a LPGA golf player was born on 1st January 1923. She is a LPGA founder. Sally Sessions attended the 1950 meeting of the LPGA at the U.S. Women’s Open in Wichita, Kansas. She died at the age of 43 from leukemia. In career, she was one of the 13 LPGA founders. She was elected secretary of the LPGA by her peers at the meeting in Wichita. Early stages of leukemia forced her to cut back on her tournament schedule. She taught in the Detroit public school system before retiring in February 1966. In 1947, she turned professional after winning the Mexican Women’s Open and joined the Wilson staff where she finished second. To Betty Jameson at the U.S. Women’s Open she was the low amateur for the event. In 1946, she was the Michigan Women’s State champion. In 1941, she was the Michigan Junior Golf Championship winner. Sally Sessions with all her dedication and devotion in her play achieved many goals in her overall golf career. She had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts. She never lost hope in herself and always fought hard to achieve her goal. She is still remembered as one of the best golfer in the history of golf.
