Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for atleast five centuries in the British Isles. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. LPGA stands for Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour. LPGA, in is an American organization for female professional golfers. The organization, with headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida runs a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world from February to November each year. The LPGA was founded in 1950 by a group of 13 women. LPGA Tour's events are held in the United States. Erika was born on 25 January 1974 in Joliet, Illinois. Her career earnings and rank is 197,932 dollars and 282 respectively. She completed her education from Indiana University. In 1996, she tied for fourth at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to gain exempt status for 1997 and won the Betty Puskar Morgantown Futures Classic on the Futures Tour. In 1997, she tied for eighth at the Sara Lee Classic, Michelob Light Classic and First Bank Edina Realty LPGA Classic. In 1998, she recorded a career-best finish with a tie for fourth at the Safeway LPGA Golf Championship and recorded a career-low score of 65 during the final round of the Oldsmobile Classic. Wicoff was the 1988-89 Indiana State Junior champion. She won consecutive medalist honors at the 1994-95 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championships. Wicoff played collegiate golf at Indiana University, where she was a three-time Big Ten individual champion in 1994-96. In 1995, she placed fourth in the NCAA, National Collegiate Athletic Association individual competition and the following year was honored with the Marilynn Smith Award.
Wicoff is a player known for her mental toughness owing to which many of her famous matches went the distance. Her superior approach and dedication to the game made her stand out from the crowd.
