Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for atleast five centuries in the British Isles. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. Golf is played on a tract of land known as the course which consists of a series of holes or cups. Most golf courses usually consist of nine or eighteen holes. Angela Stanford, LPGA player was born on Nov 28, 1977, in Fort Worth, Texas. Her height is five foot six inches. Her Rookie year is 2001 and career victories are 1 in 2003. Her Playoff record is 0-1. Stanford began collecting golf accolades early, winning the Fort Worth Girls Championship four times, the 1996 Texas State 4A High School Championship and the 1996 PING Texas State Junior Championship. While at Texas Christian University, Stanford won nine collegiate tournaments, she was a four-time All-American and a four-time All-WAC, Western Athletic Conference selection. She was named 1997 WAC Freshman of the Year and 1999 WAC Player of the year. Stanford was a member of the 2000 U.S. Curtis Cup Team, a semifinalist at the British Amateur Championship and winner of the 2000 WAC Championship. In 2000, she tied for fourth at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn exempt status for the 2001 season. In 2001, her best finish was a tie for 15th at the Giant Eagle LPGA Classic. In 2003, she became a Rolex First-Time Winner at the ShopRite LPGA Classic, where she led wire-to-wire and tied her career-low round of 65 during the first and final rounds. In 2004, she recorded two top 10s McDonald’s LPGA Championship Presented by Coca-Cola, where she tied for fourth and the Kellogg-Keebler Classic, where she tied for fifth tied her career-low score of 65 in the second round of the Longs Drugs Challenge, crossed the 1 million dollars mark in career earnings at the Michelob Ultra Open at Kingsmill. In 2005 she recorded a season-best tie for third at the BMO, Bank of Montreal Financial Group Canadian Women’s Open.
