Mucha, Barb
LPGA stands for Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour. LPGA, in is an American organization for female professional golfers. The organization, with headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida runs a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world from February to November each year. The LPGA was founded in 1950 by a group of 13 women. LPGA Tour's events are held in the United States. Barb Mucha, a professional female golfer at the LPGA was born on 1st December, 1966 in Parma Heights, Ohio. She was a semifinalist at the 1984 Women’s Trans-National where she received an All-American honor while playing for Michigan State University. She captured two collegiate titles, the Illinois State Invitational and the Ohio State Invitational. In 1986, she qualified for the Tour by tying for 46th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn non-exempt status for the 1987 season. In 1987, her best finish was a tie for 21st at the Golf Classic and her first event as an LPGA professional. Barb did not retain her card for the 1988 Tour season and returned to the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament, where she tied for 29th to earn non-exempt status for the 1989 season. In 1990, she became a Rolex First-Time Winner at the Boston Five Classic, where she defeated Lenore Rittenhouse in a sudden-death playoff. In 1991, she carded her first LPGA career hole-in-one during the third round of the U.S. Women’s Open. Her best finish was a tie for fourth at the Lady Keystone Open. In 1993, her best finish was a tie for sixth at the PING-Cellular One LPGA Golf Championship and in 1994, she captured her third career victory at the State Farm Rail Classic. In 1995, Barb made her second LPGA career ace in the first round of the Chrysler-Plymouth Tournament of Champions. In 1996, she captured her fourth career victory at the Chick-fil-A Charity Championship and crossed the 1 million dollar mark in career earnings at the McDonald’s LPGA Championship. In 1997, she totaled seven top 10s, including a season-best third-place finish at the Chrysler-Plymouth Tournament of Champions. More than just statistics, Barb had the ability to control the game, to take over. She had the speed to float away from defenders and also to recover effortlessly.
