Moon, Soo Young
LPGA stands for Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour. LPGA, in is an American organization for female professional golfers. The organization, with headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida runs a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world from February to November each year. The LPGA was founded in 1950 by a group of 13 women. LPGA Tour's events are held in the United States. Moon, Soo Young, a professional LPGA female golfer was born on 28th February, 1982 in Keumsan, Korea. She finished initially on the Pacific Asia Tour in 2001 and won the Iksungbae event in 1999 and 2000. She also won the Korean Junior Championship in 2000 and 2001. She finished at fourth place in the Orange Bowl in 2001 and fifth in 2002. In May 2002, she turned professional and tied for 38th at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to get the non-exempt status in 2003. In 2003, her best finish was a tie for 18th at the ShopRite LPGA Classic where she played a limited schedule due to injuries suffered in a July car accident. She won two events on the Futures Tour and finished second on the Futures Tour money list to earn exempt status on the LPGA for 2004. In 2004, moon recorded a career-best tie for fourth at the LPGA Corning Classic, where she posted a career-low of 66 during the second and final rounds. In 2005, she competed in 8 events before an injury on her left wrist which made her miss the second half of the season. She recorded a season-best finish at the Corona Morelia Championship, where she tied for fifth. She tied for 10th at the MasterCard Classic honoring Alejo Peralta. Moon carded a season-low of 69 during the second and final rounds of the Franklin American Mortgage Championship. The desire to use her talents for the Glory and Honor of her God and Country propelled her in an attempt to excel at the highest level of sporting achievement to inspire future generations of her countrymen to do the same upholding the highest standards of patriotic fervor.
