Monaghan, Kris
LPGA stands for Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour. LPGA, in is an American organization for female professional golfers. The organization, with headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida runs a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world from February to November each year. The LPGA was founded in 1950 by a group of 13 women. LPGA Tour's events are held in the United States. Monaghan, Kris, an LPGA player was born on 24 August 1960 in Spokane, Washington. Her height is five feet six inches. She grew up in New Mexico and won the Sun Country Junior PGA, Professional Golf Association Championship in 1974, 1977 and 1978. She also won the State High School Championship in 1978. Monaghan was the 1980 New Mexico State Amateur champion, the 1981 Ladies Broadmoor Invitational champion and took third place in the 1980 National Championship. In 1987, she posted her career-low score of 65 during the Golf Classic and her best finish was a tie for 12th at the LPGA Corning Classic. In 1988, her best finish was a tie for 11th at the Konica San Jose Classic and had reconstructive knee surgery at the end of the season. In 1989, she had her first career hole-in-one during the first round of the Boston Five Classic and best finish was a tie for 19th at the Rochester International. In 1990, she became a Rolex First-Time Winner at the Red Robin Kyocera Inamori Classic. In 1993, she won the Kyocera Inamori Classic and totaled six top-10 finishes, all in her last nine weeks of competition. Monaghan with all her perseverance and superior approach towards the sport of golf achieved many aspirations in her overall professional career and became an international celebrity and a symbol of hope to millions.
