Little, Sally
LPGA stands for Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour. LPGA, in is an American organization for female professional golfers. The organization, with headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida runs a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world from February to November each year. The LPGA was founded in 1950 by a group of 13 women. LPGA Tour's events are held in the United States. Little, Sally was born on 12th October 1951 in Cape Town, South Africa. With a height of five feet eight inch, Little was the low individual at the 1971 World Amateur Team Championship and won the South African Match Play and Stroke Play titles that same year. As an amateur, Little tied for fifth at the 1971 Lady Carling Open. In 1972, her best finish of the season was fifth place at the Lady Carling Open. In 1973, her best finish was a tie for seventh at the Southgate Ladies Open. In 1974, her top finish was a tie for seventh at the Portland Ladies Classic. In 1975, her season-best finish was a tie for 11th at the Karsten-PING Open. In 1976, she won her first title at the Ladies Masters, where she holed a 75-foot bunker shot on the 72nd hole for birdie and the win. In 1977, her top finish of the season was a tie for second at the Winner’s Circle. In 1978, she captured the Kathryn Crosby-Honda Civic Classic title by virtue of a sudden-death playoff with Nancy Lopez. In 1979, she captured three titles, the Bent Tree Classic, Barth Classic and the Columbia Savings Classic. In 1980, she won two tournaments, including her first major championship, the LPGA Championship. With all her dedication and devotion in her play, Little achieved many goals in her overall professional golf career. She had the ability of reaching the pinnacle easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts. She never lost hope in herself and always fought hard to achieve her goal.
