Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. LPGA stands for Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour, which is an American organization for female professional golfers headquartered in Daytona Beach, Florida. Gulbis, Natalie a LPGA player was born 7 January 1983, Sacramento, California. Her height is five foot nine inches. She started playing golf at the age of 4. Her hobbies include working out and running. She was qualified for the Tour on her first attempt. At the age of 14, Gulbis won the California Women’s Amateur Championship. That same year, she became the youngest player to qualify for an LPGA tournament. Gulbis represented the state of California in two USGA, United States Golf Association team championships and was the United States Women’s Amateur Championship medalist in 1998. She won four collegiate tournaments while at the University of Arizona, including the NCAA, National Collegiate Athletic Association West Regional. She was named a First-Team All-American in 2001. In 2004, her best finish was a tie for seventh at the Chick-fil-A Charity Championship hosted by Nancy Lopez. She carded her first LPGA career hole-in-one during the final round of the Safeway Classic presented by Pepsi. In 2003, she tied for 12th at the Chick-fil-A Charity Championship hosted by Nancy Lopez for her best finish of the season. She carded a career-low 63 in the third round of the Welch’s/Fry’s Championship. In 2002, she tied for fifth at the ShopRite LPGA Classic and the Giant Eagle LPGA Classic. She finished second to Beth Bauer in the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year race. In 2001, she turned professional in July and tied for third at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn exempt status for the 2002 season. She won the LPGA Sectional Qualifying Tournament in Venice, by eight strokes. She is one of the best known golf players. A unique style of game strategy and excellent judgment is what makes this great player one of the best all time golf players. Sheer determination, concentration and self confidence have helped her through out her professional career.
