Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. LPGA, Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour, is an American organization for female professional golfers headquartered in Daytona Beach, Florida. Goetze-Ackerman, Vicki was born on 17th October 1972, in Mishicot, Wisconsin. Her height is 5 foot 5 inches and started playing golf at the age of 3 and competed in her first tournament at the age of 5. She was elected to the LPGA Tour Player Executive Committee for the 2005-07 seasons. She was qualified for the Tour on her first attempt. She was the American Junior Golf Association, AJGA Player of the Year from 1988 to 90. She captured the U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship title in 1989 and 1992, and she was the low amateur at the U.S. Women’s Open from 1989 to 1992. In 1990 and 1992, she was a member of both the U.S. Curtis Cup and the U.S. World Cup teams and was the 1992 National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA champion. In addition, she was named the 1989 and 1991 92 Titleist and Golfweek Amateur Player of the Year, 1992 Southeastern Conference, SEC Player of the Year and 1992 SEC Female Athlete of the Year. In 1998, she finished 26th at the Australian Ladies Masters. In 1995, she posted a third-place finish at the Ping AT&T Wireless Services LPGA Golf Championship, during which she recorded her first LPGA career hole-in-one during the third round. In 1993, she turned professional and finished fourth at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to gain exempt status for the 1994 season. The desire to use her talents for the Glory and Honor of her God and Country propelled her in an attempt to excel at the highest level of sporting achievement to inspire future generations of her countrymen to do the same upholding the highest standards of patriotic fervor.
