LPGA stands for Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour. LPGA, in is an American organization for female professional golfers. The organization, with headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida runs a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world from February to November each year. The LPGA was founded in 1950 by a group of 13 women. LPGA Tour's events are held in the United States. Laura Davies is a professional golfer. Born on October 5th 1963 in Coventry, England, her height is 5 foot 10 inches and joined LPGA in 1988. She played 16 tournaments and her playoff record was 2 to 8 and international victories were 46. She was awarded the 1994 Golf Writers’ Trophy by the Association of Golf Writers. She was also honored by ESPN in 1995 With the ESPY Award for Outstanding Women’s Golf Performer of the Year. In 1987 she won U.S. Women’s Open and in 1988 she won Circle K LPGA Tucson Open. In 1989, she won the Lady Keystone Open by posting birdies on the final three holes. She led the Women Professional Golfers’ European Tour, WPGET Order of Merit from 1985 to 86. In 1990, she finished a tie for second in the Women’s Kemper Open and was a member of the first-ever European Solheim Cup Team. In 1994, she recorded three victories, including the McDonald’s LPGA Championship; finished first on the LPGA money list. In 1997, she earned the history books after recording her fourth consecutive win at the Standard Register PING. In 2001, she recorded her 20th LPGA career victory at the Wegmans Rochester International. In 2003, she finished second place at the State Farm Classic and earned her 45th international victory at the ANZ Ladies Masters on the LET. She was a member of the victorious European Solheim Cup Team, where sheposted a 1-2-1 record. In 2005, she finished third at the ShopRite LPGA Classic. In 2004, she finished third at the Asahi Ryokuken International Championship at Mount. Laura Davies with all her dedication and devotion in her play achieved many goals in her overall athletic career. She had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts. She never lost hope in herself and always fought hard to achieve her goal. She is still remembered as one of the best athletes in the history of golf.
