Heinrich Schomburgk
The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896.The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent at least one color of the participating country’s national flag. Heinrich Georg Schomburgk was born on June 30, 1885. He was a male tennis player from Germany, who also played football. At the Stockholm Olympics in 1912 he won a gold medal in the mixed doubles event with Dorothea Koring. Heinrich was a player known for his mental toughness owing to which many of his famous matches went the distance. His superior approach and dedication to the game made him stand out from the crowd. He is still remembered as one of the best athletes in the history of Olympics.
