Natalia Baranova-Masolkina was born on February 25, 1975. She is a Russian cross-country skier who has competed since 1994. She won a gold medal in the 4 by 5 km at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. She also won two medals at the 2005 Nordic World Ski Championships with silver in the 4 by 5 km and a bronze in the 30 km. She has 3 individual victories at various levels from 1995 to 2004.
 
Natalia never lost hope in herself and always strived hard to achieve her ambition. She possessed the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts.
