Alexander Resch
The Olympic Games or Olympics are an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C., the modern games started from 1896. The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent at least one color of the participating country’s national flag. Alexander Resch is one of the finest athletes who set an appreciated position for himself in the Olympic history. He is one of the German luger who was born on April 5, 1979. Resch teamed with Patric Leitner and won the men's doubles event, compiling a gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, United States. Resch and Patric also competed at the 2006 Winter Olympics, finishing sixth. In addition they won the World Championships in the 1999, 2000 and 2004 seasons. Resch, with all his perseverance and superior approach towards the sport, accomplished many aspirations in his overall athletic career. He possessed the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra effort. He never lost hope in himself and always strived hard to accomplish his ambition.
