Kim Kwang-Sun
The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896. The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent atleast one color of the participating country’s national flag. Kim Kwang-Sun was born on June 8, 1964 in Chunnahbokdo, Korea. He was a South Korean boxer, who won the gold medal in the Men's Flyweight category at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. Kim turned professional in 1990 and after only five fights took on Humberto Gonzalez in 1992 for the WBC, World Boxing Council Light Flyweight Title. Although he was leading in the fight, he lost in a 12th round TKO, Technically Knock Out. In 1993 he took on Michael Carbajal for the WBC and IBF, International Boxing Federation Light Flyweight Title but was TKO'd in the 7th round. He retired after the bout with a record of 6-2-0. Kim was a player known for his mental toughness owing to which many of his famous matches went the distance. His superior approach and dedication to the game made him stand out from the other players of his epoch.
