Wendy Boglioli
The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896.The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent atleast one color of the participating country’s national flag. Wendy Lansbach Boglioli was born on March 6, 1955. She is a former Olympic swimmer and swimming coach from the United States, who later became an executive and motivational speaker. She is best known for winning the bronze medal in the 100m butterfly and, with teammates Shirley Babashoff, Kim Peyton, and Jill Sterkel, and the gold medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. This was the only American gold medal that year. Wendy served as co-head coach of the Yale University Swim Team together with her husband Bernie Boglioli, before embarking on a career as a motivational speaker and spokesperson. In 1997, she entered the long-term care insurance field, and currently serves as national spokeswoman for Genworth Financial's Long Term Care Division. She in the arms of women initiative is the first of its kind in the industry to recognize the distinctive needs of women clients. In 2004, Wendy was honored as a Distinguished Alumna of Monmouth University. Boglioli was a strong determined player who urged and inculcated a team spirit in all professional athletes of his nation. He is still respected as a high caliber player who can build the professionalism in sport to lead his nation at the foremost position.
