The Olympic Games, or Olympics, is an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprises of summer and winter games. Wang Meng was born on April 10, 1985. She is a Chinese short track speed skater. She lives in Beijing and is from Harbin, the same hometown as the last gold medalist in the 500 m, Chinese speed skater Yang. On February 15, 2006 at the 2006 Winter Olympics, Wang was the first athlete to win gold for the Chinese team. In world rankings, she was ranked 1st in 500 m in 2005 to 2006, 1st in 1000 m in 2005 to 2006, 18th in 1500 m in 2005 to 2006 and 15th overall in 2005 to 2006. In World Championship, she was ranked 4th overall in 2005, Silver in 500 m in 2005, Silver in 3000 m relay in 2005, Bronze in 1000 m in 2005, Bronze in 1500 m in 2005, 2nd overall in 2004, Gold in 500 m in 2004, Silver in 1500 m in 2004, Silver in 3000 m Relay in 2004 and Gold in 3000 m Relay in 2003. In World Junior Championships, Meng ranked 2nd overall in 2002, Gold in 500 m in 2002, Bronze in 1500 m in 2002 and 1500 m Super Final in 2002 She was a strong determined player who urged and inculcated a team spirit in all professional athletes of his nation. He is still respected as a high caliber player who can build the professionalism in sport to lead his nation at the foremost position.
