Tanja Frieden was born on 6 February 1976 in Berne. She is a Swiss snowboarder. She won a gold medal in the inaugural Snowboard Cross competition at the 2006 Winter Olympics. Her height is five foot eight inch and weight is 143 pounds. In the Snowboard Cross finals at the 2006 Winter Olympics, Frieden was in second place well behind American Lindsey Jacobellis when Jacobellis crashed while attempting to showboat on the second to last jump Frieden passed Jacobellis and won the gold medal.
 
Tanja Frieden career highlights include Frieden won her first World Cup race in Sierra Nevada, Spain in March 2005. In all, Frieden has won six World Cup medals, including a bronze early this season in Valle Nevado, Chile. She finished fifth at the 2003 World Championships. Tanja Frieden with all her dedication and devotion in her play achieved many goals in her overall athletic career. She had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts. She never lost hope in herself and always fought hard to achieve her goal. She is still remembered as one of the best athletes in the history of Olympics.
