Meghan Agosta
The Olympic Games, or Olympics, are an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprise of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896. The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent at least one color of the participating country’s national flag.
Meghan Agosta was born on February 12, 1987 in Ruthven, Ontario. She is a women's ice hockey player. A natural offensive talent, she has been called by the Canadian national coach Melody Davidson the future of women's hockey in Canada and is considered by some to be the female equivalent to Sidney Crosby.
Agosta first started playing hockey at the age of 6, switching to it from figure skating. She played for the Chatham Cyclones AAA organization and later for the Junior AA Windsor Wildcats of the Ontario Provincial Women's Hockey League. At the 2003 Canada Games, she scored the winning goal for Team Ontario.
Agosta was an alternate for the team that finished second at the 2005 women's world championship in April. She played for the national team for the first time in August 2005 at the Four Nations Cup, and was one of the leading scorers during the exhibition phase prior to the Winter Olympics.
On her 19th birthday, during the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Turin, she scored a hat trick for Team Canada against the Russian national women's ice hockey team. With all her dedication and devotion in her play, she achieved many goals in her overall athletic career. She had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts. She never lost hope in herself and always fought hard to achieve her goal. She is still remembered as one of the best athletes in the history of Olympics.
