Megan Jendrick
The Olympic Games, or Olympics, are an international multi-sport event taking place every four years which comprise of summer and winter games. Though the first ancient games were held in 776 B.C, the modern games started from 1896. The unity of the 5 continents is shown on the Olympic flag by five colorful intertwined rings of red, blue, green, yellow, and black, created by Baron Pierre de Coubertin to represent at least one color of the participating country’s national flag. Megan Jendrick was born on Megan Quann on January 15, 1984 in Tacoma, Washington and is an American swimmer. She graduated from Emerald Ridge High School in Puyallup, Washington. She won two gold medals at the 2000 Summer Olympics. Jendrick has set 26 American records and one World record in her swimming career up to date. She is a ten times National champion and nine times US Open champion. Jendrick was the star of the 2005 World University Games in Izmir, Turkey, winning three gold medals and setting two Universiade records. She was the second woman to ever swim the 100 yard breaststroke in one minute and is also only the second woman in the history to swim 100 yards breaststroke in under 59 seconds. With all her dedication and devotion in her play, Megan Jendrick achieved many goals in her overall athletic career. She had the ability of defeating the opponent easily by just giving some extra hard work and efforts. She never lost hope in herself and always fought hard to achieve her goal. She is still remembered as one of the best athletes in the history of Olympics.
