Golf is an outdoor sport where player as an individual or from varied teams strike a ball targeting a hole using various clubs. The game basically originated from Scotland and has been played for at least five centuries in the British Isles. The two basic forms of playing golf are match play and stroke play. The Tour Championship is the final event of golf's PGA Tour season. The top 30 money winners on the PGA Tour after the penultimate event qualify for the Championship, which is one of the richest tournaments on the tour.
 
Tommy Bolt is a well known golf player. He was born in Haworth, Oklahoma. His PGA, Professional Golfers Association Tour victories include North and South Open Championship in 1951, Los Angeles Open in 1952, San Diego Open in 1953, Miami Beach Intl Four Ball in 1954, Convair San Diego Open in 1955, Eastern Open Invitational in 1957, Colonial National Invitational in 1958, U.S. Open Championship.  Memphis Open Invitational in 1960 and Pensacola Open Invitational in 1961.
 
His best PGA Tour finishes include North and South Open Championship in 1951, Los Angeles Open in 1952, San Diego Open in 1953, Miami Beach Intl Four Ball in 1954, Convair San Diego Open in 1955, Tucson Open, St. Paul Open, Eastern Open Invitational in 1957, Colonial National Invitational in 1958. His best Champions Tour finishes T3 in 1980 Suntree Senior PGA Tour Classic. He inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2002. He won 15 career titles on the PGA Tour, including the 1958 U.S. Open at the age of 40, where he prevailed by four shots over Gary Player in 95 degree heat during a double round final day.
 
Tommy Bolt is one of the best known golf players in the history of the game. A unique style of game strategy and excellent judgment is what makes this great player one of the best all time golf players. Sheer determination, concentration and self confidence has helped him through out his professional career of playing golf to achieve what other players can only imagine of.
