Tom Purtzer was born on 5 December, 1951, in Des Moines, Iowa. His height is six foot and his weight is 210 pounds. His swings right and has completed 33 professional years. His full name is Thomas Warren Purtzer. His PGA, Professional Golfers Association Tour victories includes Glen Campbell Los Angeles Open in 1977, Phoenix Open in 1984, Gatlin Brothers Southwest Golf Classic in 1988, Southwestern Bell Colonial in 1991, and NEC World Series of Golf. His Champions Tour victories include SBC Classic in 2003, Toshiba Senior Classic in 2004 and 3M Championship in 2005.
 
In the 2006 Champions Tour highlights he finished T4 at the Jeld-Wen Tradition in late August. He earned his first Champions Tour victory when he drained an eagle putt of 58 feet, 3 inches to edge Gil Morgan at the SBC Classic by one stroke. He came to the final hole trailing Morgan by two strokes, but became the first player to make an eagle on the final hole and win an event since Sammy Rachels did so at the 2001 Transamerica. He had a hole in one in the opening round, the first player to do so and win the event since Bob Gilder at the 2002 Kroger Senior Classic.
 
Tom Purtzer is one of the best known golf players in the history of the game. A unique style of game strategy and excellent judgment is what makes this great player one of the best all time golf players. Sheer determination, concentration and self confidence has helped him through out his professional career of playing golf to achieve what other players can only imagine of.
