Scott William Simpson was born on the 17th September 1955, in San Diego, California, United States of America. He is a 6 foot 2 inch, 205 pound Professional American Golfer who debuted in 1977. He has 7 Professional Golfer’s Association victories with the 1980 Western Open, the 1984 Manufacturers Hanover Westchester Classic, the 1987 Greater Greensboro Open and U.S. Open Championship, the 1989 BellSouth Atlanta Golf Classic, the 1993 GTE, General Telephone and Electronics, Byron Nelson Golf Classic and the 1998 Buick Invitational. In 2006 Scott’s, Charles Schwab Cup points and position are 975 and 11, respectively, Champions Tour money and position are 1,170,009 US dollars and 6, respectively, best Champions Tour finishes are as number 1 at the Wal-Mart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach, Turtle Bay Championship and Puerto Vallarta Blue Agave Golf Classic, Tied 3rd at The Boeing Championship at Sandestin and Boeing Greater Seattle Classic, Tied 5th at the U.S. Senior Open Championship, Tied 7th at the Commerce Bank Championship, PGA Tour best round of 71 at Round 1, at the AT&T, American Telephone and Telegraph, Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and Champions Tour best round of 61 at Round 2 of the Boeing Greater Seattle Classic. Scott won his first Champions Tour event at the Wal-Mart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach, at his 25th career start on the circuit. The victory on the Monterey Peninsula made him the sixth first-time winner on the Champions Tour in 2006. He started the 2006 season finishing second at the Turtle Bay Championship on the North Shore of Oahu which was his best in a Tour-sponsored event since he Tied 2nd at the 2001 EDS, Electronic Data Systems, Byron Nelson Classic, he added another runner-up finish at the Puerto Vallarta Blue Agave Golf Classic. His best Nationwide Tour finish is Tied 54th at the 2003 Chitimacha Louisiana Open and his best 2005 PGA Tour Finish is a Tied 33rd at the Chrysler Classic of Tucson.
He played four events on the Champions Tour while making his Champions Tour debut at the SAS, Statistical Analysis Software, Championship to be Tied 18th at Prestonwood. He played in nine events on the PGA TOUR and two tournaments on the Nationwide Tour while making three cuts in PGA Tour events, his 2005 money-wise ranking on the PGA Tour and Champions Tour are 3 and 4, respectively.
