The top 30 money winners on the PGA Tour after the penultimate event qualify for the Championship, which is one of the richest tournaments on the tour Jim Thorpe was born on May 28, 1987 in Prague, Oklahoma and he died on March 28, 1953. His full name was James Francis Thorpe. His Professional Golfers Association, PGA Tour victories include the 1985 Greater Milwaukee Open, the Seiko-Tucson Match Play Championship and the 1986 Seiko-Tucson Match Play Championship. His Champions Tour victories include the 2000 Transamerica and the Gold Rush Classic, the 2001 Kroger Senior Classic, the Allianz Championship, the 2002 Countrywide Tradition, the 2003 Long Island Classic, Charles Schwab Cup Championship, the 2004 Farmers Charity Classic, Commerce Bank Long Island Classic. His best Champions Tour finishes include the 2000 Transamerica, the Gold Rush Classic, the Long Island Classic and Charles Schwab Cup Championship. In 1998 he has earned full exemption for the 1999 by finishing T6 at the National Qualifying Tournament at Grenelefe Golf and Tennis Resort. After carding rounds of 67-76-72, he fired a 3-under-par 69 on the final day to secure his top-eight finish. In 2002 he had won the first major championship of his career at the Tradition. He had made a birdie on the 72nd hole of the event to forge the overtime session and then added another birdie on the first extra hole to claim the title. Jim Thorpe is a player who wants him to be counted amongst the top golf-players in the world. He is completely devoted in his play. He has a hunger of achieving victory in each and every competition.
